As the season wears on, I’ve been starting to get more questions posed to me.

Here are a few:

Hi CG,

I have a question about my receivers. I have Steve Smith, Marques Colston and Santonio Holmes in my starting lineup. What should I do with Holmes?
On my bench I have Jerry Porter and Shaun McDonald. Should I bench Holmes for one of them (and which one) or should I stick with Holmes?

I’d rank these WR is this order:

Santonio Holmes
Jerry Porter
Shaun McDonald

I think’s Holmes will end up getting better, while the other 2 will not. McDonald is a good as I think he’s going to get. We’re only 2 weeks in, so I wouldn’t get overly excited about McDonald especially with Roy Williams, Calvin Johnson, and Mike Furrey also in the mix.

Jerry Porter is the #2 WR in Oakland, and they are showing they can play. I think Ronald Currey will be the primary WR there.

I have three options the struggling Drew Brees against the Titans Monday Night or Ben Roethlisberger against the 49ers or Derek Anderson againt the Raiders? Thanks!

I’d still stick with Brees. I’ve gotta think Brees and the rest of the Saints offense will pick it up. And the Titans secondary is nothing special. That team has too much talent to keep going at the pace they have been the first 2 weeks. The 49ers D is tough and I’m thinking the Steelers will not put up a bunch of points…not because they can’t but because they won’t have to. As far as Derek Anderson, I’m not jumping on that bandwagon just yet. Playing in Oakland will be tough for Anderson.

Stick with Brees….

I have Heath Miller & Tony Gonzalez at TE. Which one should I start because they have similar stats so far but Miller has a TD and Gonzalez has Huard throwing to him. Which one should I put in at TE in week 3?

Fantasy Football Free Advice:

Like Brees, Gonzalez is a top player at his position who has struggled to put up the numbers most people envisioned him doing. With that said, it’s only been two weeks, so I’m not ready to throw in the towel on Gonzalez. More specifically for Week 3, Larry Johnson will not fair to well against the Vikes D, so I think they will need to throw more often than not. Especially with Eddie Kennison out, Gonzalez along with Dwayne Bowe will be called upon more this week. As far as Heath Miller, I just don’t think the Steelers/49ers game will be a good fantasy game, not that the Chiefs/Vikings will fare much better. But if I’m picking between Gonzalez and Miller, I’d make the decision based on who will be more of a focal point to their team’s offensive output. For that reason, Gonzalez gets my vote.

Keep the questions coming!
